Differences between Directx 9 and Directx 10 API

Hi, im new to Directx. And i wonder if there are much changes between the Directx 9 and Directx 10 API. I'd like to learn directx and at work i only have Windows XP so i cant run Directx 10 applications and there are much more useful books for directx 9. But later i'll work with directx 10. I havent found any useful information in this forum or google.

If you are new to graphics programming, learn DX9 development.  DX10 development is a very-advanced extension to DX9 development, for all intents and purposes.  You won't lose anything by investing your time in DX9 education.
