Is There Any Way To Save Persistant Data?

To say a central place? So that maybe one could have a secure way of leveling up online?

    Nothing provided by Microsoft....

There's various places you can use - Amazon have space you can pay for by size and bandwidth if you are not interested in hosting your own server. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_S3

Whether its secure or not will depend on your implementation...

I may of misunderstood the question but if you are asking if there is a central place you can store game info, such as highscore tables, player skill levels etc then no unfortunately not. And I believe you can't connect to any 3rd party storage (e.g. Amazon) either from the 360... as you can only communicate to other games in the session.

Youre right you cant, as there is no System.Net. Works great for Windows though :)

Yes both quite correct. Sorry I should have indicated that limitation in my reply.

If you are on Live! Arcade (with the "pro" libraries), you get Live! scoreboards and matchmaking. It turns out that you can use those APIs to store things like levels and skills. In base XNA, though, you cannot, unless you use Windows-only methods.

The other problem on Windows is that you can't trust the PC, because people will cheat, so you have to have a trusted server involved in the gaming.

And thats were Amazon ec2 comes in. It like amazon s3, but for processing time. Benefits are its cheap and data transfer between it and S3 are free. Im not plugging it, its just a good service for thoughs on a very tight budget
