My dad owns a software company so, I was immediatly on the computer at a very young age and he started to teach me. At first, my older brother was very good with computers. Of course, like most little kids, I played games, hours on end. Me and my older brother loved to edit my sister's games (Little text files and stuff, you know not like today.) and I learned my way around the computer with that.
When I was about 11, my dad got sick of me playing games and tried to teach me VB.NET, I liked the idea but, couldn't do it. He kept telling me that I should teach myself and stuff. My mom bought me a course for VB.NET, I refused to do it. I did not like VB.NET, it seemed stupid to me. Well, about 2 years ago, my dad bought me a brand new computer for Christmas, it is a very nice computer (And it is becoming more powerful all the time by my constant paycheck blowing. :P) but, when I opened the present, he said I had to learn programming if I wanted to keep it so, I agreed. Although, I had been learning C# for about 4 months prior to that.
I kind of have this thing where I have said I can do something but, I can't do it well enough or that I say something and I get made fun of for it. So, I had basically been hiding the fact that I was learning C# (A couple times I almost got yelled at for my fast window switching when mom walked by, she thought I was looking at some ***.) So, I still to this day, hide it from alot of people. People know I do but, I never talk about it because I am afraid I will be made fun of for saying I can do something but, never knowing it good enough.
Anywho, I am know 3 weeks away from 17 and I am learning more and more C# by the day. (I looked into C++ at one time but, it seemed WAY over complicated and just not modern plus, my dad's company writes software in .NET and I can just mooch Visual C# 2008 Pro off them. My dad gave me his company's MSDN login but, then they shut it off. D: )
(Oh and now I play little to no games, I think I have 1 game that I actually play sometimes and that is Oblivion but, I do have WoW installed but, that is only for botting. Games have just lost my interest for the most part and about 75% of the time I play games, it is to try to solve some problem I am having since you just suddenly think of the solution while playing a game.)
