    2D Animation Software

If anyone is interested, I've released a beta of my WindAnimator software. It allows you to create a project with multiple animation sets which can then be exported as a single sprite sheet. It has fairly simple drawing functions (Pen, Line etc) and a really simple palette - it's kind of more like a proof-of-concept really.

    You can get it here

Any feedback would be much appreciated...

    Thanks.

I played around with it for about five minutes and found it very easy to use, I made a simple animated hat, but it feels incomplete somehow incomplete out of curiosity, are there any other functions you've considered making.  I'd suggest importing images as a start, if you haven't already thought of that.

I also downloaded it and I second that the major thing to address is importing images.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm working on importing images now - with routines for importing individual images, spritesheets and image sequences (img001.png, img002.png etc).

Good tool. I like the easy to use interface.
But as mentioned, importing images would be a nice addition.

With importing images it would be great. I didn't look to hard but can it save your thing in a diffrent file than windanimator files?

    Re: 2D Animation Software

I've just release Beta 2 of WindAnimator - you can download it from here

    Features now included:

    • Import single images, multiple frames off a spritesheet or a sequence of images.
    • Onionskin up to three frames before and after the current frame.
    • Fixed transparent background problem.

The whole thing should be a little more stable as well. I've also started the documentation which you can get to under Help -> Contents... from the main window.

    Thanks again for your feedback.

Just wanted to say it's a really nice little application, I'd even say it would be happily commercial with a little more development.

I'll try and put some screenshots up when I get to work tomorrow. I also have a new version to upload with a few bugs fixed and some extra features like importing animated gifs - I'll post on here when it's available. Thanks again everyone for your feedback - it's nice to think it may be of some use to somebody!

    Re: 2D Animation Software

Wow. Pretty cool stuff. I made somewhat of an animation software too. It's not as detailed as yours  and doesn't have as much features but it gets the job done. I still have to get some features in (like moving the selecting rectangle with the arrows) but it's mostly done. I kept mine on the simple side. It's called Ray Editor. Good job man and keep it up.
