    NO sounds with XACT

I am not getting any sounds with XACT( there won't come any sound out my boxes???) if i play the wave files outside of the XACT tool i can Hear the sound. I made a wave bank, Sound bank than i started the XACT DOS Utility and it connected so that is woking. But when i press de play button(green button in de top of the screen) you can see it's busy, but i can't hear any sounds. I downloaded a correct XACT file to test the sounds but that didn't work either.

    i need some great ideas

Hi, I have the same problem, I can't find out why; I was wondering if it has something to do with ports, I got my firewall down trying to solve the problem but it didn't worked either, please, if anybody knows something, let me know...

The XACT tool communicates with the auditioning utility over a local port 80 connection. If you are running some other program (for instance a web server) that listens on port 80, that will prevent the connection from working. If so, you need to shut down that other program before using the XACT auditioning utilitiy.

Make sure your connected, to make sure go to Auditions drop down list in XACT and click on "Connect to..." then click okay

Again, who had the wonderful idea of using port 80 for XACT?

    Re: NO sounds with XACT

While I do not like a hardcoded port myself I can see why they used port 80: this should be the one with the least problems when it comes to firewalls. Also, did anyone lamenting about port 80 care to file his or her concerns on Connect?
