Trial Subscription?

    Trial Subscription?

I'm on a 12-month trial subscription of the Creator's Club through Microsoft's Dreamspark (a sweet deal for any college students out there! Google it!), but the profile has me as a registered, non-premium member. Are trial subscriptions barred from submitting/reviewing games or (I'm hoping) it's a beta issue?

I also would like to know this.

I was just about to register myself for the Dreamspark program for XNA, but if I'm not allowed onto the service, then I will wait until this is resolved. I need to get the most out of those free 12 months. :-)

Yes, Trial subscriptions are just that: trial. They only allow local deployment to the 360, and are not considered a PREMIUM account

Coolio, it would have been nice to wait until my game was closer to deployment on the 360 but seeing as I've graduated and stopped qualifying for Dreamspark... I'll probably go Premium some time after this runs out. Thanks for the info!

I'm currently on a trial subscription and I still have the premium badge, so there must be multiple types of trials

Although I still can't peer review. Which is odd. But I can create and upload projects just like any other premium accounts

Is that a Dreamspark trial or one of the pre-paid cards? I believe the pre-paid cards work like full subscriptions (but don't quote me on that).

Are you 18 or older? You must be at least 18 to review games being that there may be inappropriate content in them (since they haven't been reviewed). You only have to be 13, however, to submit a project to be reviewed.

I participated in a an XNA AI Challenge and was given it. It has a code, I entered it on my Xbox, and I got the premium thing

The review things works now too (logging in and out seemed to have done it) so like I said, different trials apperantly work different

Yep. You don't actually have a trial, per se. You just have a prepaid time card for the subscription. It's the same thing as purchasing a 4-month period on the marketplace. The Dreamspark one, on the other hand, is a trial to the service which is why it is restricted.

Glad to hear the reviews are working for you. Too bad most games aren't available for review anymore. :). I missed it too what with having to work and all...
