Hi, I'm just starting up with XNA GS & creators club membership.  The instructions indicate I need to download the XNA Game Studio Connect tool from Xbox Live Marketplace onto my Xbox 360, but I can't seem to find it listed anywhere.  The procedures on the website & in the XNA GS Help contradict each other as to where to go (e.g. Genres>Other vs All Games).  I appear to have the club membership in place & have the email receipt for that.  Any help on how to download this onto my Xbox 360 would be appreciated.  Thanks!

From the Quick Start page:

 

Once you’re signed in, navigate to Marketplace. In the Marketplace area, select Game Store, then All Games, and finally XNA Creators Club. From there, select and download XNA Game Studio Connect.

If you don't see the XNA Game Studio Connect item, you might need to turn off any parental controls, since the item is not rated and will not show if parental controls are active.

 maybe I am a bit early, but I cannot download XNA Game Studio Connect. It is not a available in the in the marketplace dashboard. And when I try to start a xna game and the xbox tries to download it, I get the error 80153003. Maybe XNA Game Studio Connect is not available in Germany yet?

Hi, I have the same problem. I have bought a new Xbox, new suscription,... but I can't find the XNA Game Studio Connect. There is XNA Game Launcher, wich I remember to be the old version, but there isn't anywhere the Studio Connect.

Parental Controls are not active.

when I just now tried to start XNA Game Studio Connect on my XBox, I first got an automatic update, which however then only displayed a nice message screen, telling me that the XNA Game Studio Connect version I had (from XNA 2.0) is now outdated, and that I need to delete it, then download it again from the XBox Live marketplace (what I had actually expected, with the 3.0 release).

This I tried to do. The "delete it" part was of course no problem, but the "download" part is: Because XNA Game Studio Connect does not appear in the list of available games in XBox Live Marketplace. If I go into the "XNA Creators Club" category, I only see two items: The first Item is the memberships item, the second item (the only item that can be downloaded) is the old XNA Game Launcher (for XNA 1.0, wasn't it?). XNA Game Studio Connect does not appear!

I should note, that I am accessing the Marketplace from Germany.

Maybe the whole region protection thing (about which countries are allowed to submit XBLCG games) has gone a bit overboard here, so that even the download of XNA Game Studio Connect is now limited to those 6 countries? (Which would then be a mistake, I suppose ;-)

I live in Italy and I've the same problem. On XNA Creators Club I only see "Abbonamenti" (subscriptions) and "XNA Game Studio Launcher", which should be the connectivity tool for XNA 1.0, if I understand correctly.

I didnt know Game Launcher was for XNA 1.0! Like a dunce, I went and installed XNA Game Launcher when I could not found XNA Game Studio Connect, and tried to connect from my PC throughout the whole night which of course failed miserably! But now the question is "How do I get rid of it?" I have successfully removed it from the Game blade but it still exists on my hard disk. I get an error if I try to delete it from the hard disk. I will not have a chance to install Game Studio Connect 3.0 until tonight so Im wondering whether they will be any problems in installing it if the XNA Game Launcher is not removed from the hard disk. Or will installing Game Studio Connect update the Game Launcher automatically. I dont want to reformat my HD and I dont want to stay up the whole night again installing it over and over again on a very-very slow connection I have over here. Thanks for any info that you can provide me! XNA rocks!

EDIT: OK problem solved. Game Launcher removed from hard disk. Had no idea why it did not work last night. Found XNA Game Studio Connect and downloading now!

EDIT:BTW why is Game Launcher for XNA 1.0 still available? Should it not be removed since it is no longer applicable? This may help to avoid future problems with noobs like me who dont know the difference.

Because people may still have .ccgames for GS 1.0 which need it.
For 2.0 and 3.0 the team made both games work with the new launcher

Some developers might still want to use it. If somebody is working on a 1.0 game, and doesn't need any of the newer features, why should they be forced to upgrade?

Or maybe a developer has upgraded their main projects to 3.0, but still has a bunch of older 1.0 games that they occasionally want to play?

Same problem here. Also living in Finland.

I'll take a look, but it should be available. Will circle back when I have more information.

Thank you both for the report on this, I've found the problem (affecting Finland and Denmark) and sent mail on the issue to the Xbox Content team to try and get the issue resolved. I don't have an ETA yet (It's the weekend so it may be slower than usual) but as soon as I have any more information I'll let you know. The worst case is that this will be fixed on Monday. I sincerely apologize for the problems that we've had getting this out to everyone on time. Thanks for your patience and we’ll get this resolved as soon as possible.

Being that you cannot find it, I would feel inclined to indicate to you that it is not yet fixed.

This has been fixed (again). If you see any problems please post on the thread again. But I have verified that it is both in Finland and Denmark.

Thanks but actually for future reference I've just come to realize its in the Game Add-ons section specifically its Game Add-ons > Browse > Title > All > XNA creator's club > Featured downloads Xna game Studio connect. Thanks again for the link

I was also having the same problem but seem like after clicking on the Marketplace, paste "XNA Creators Club" in the "find a game" on upper left search area and hit enter. after that go to that link & you will see "XNA Game Studio Connect". hope that helps!

yea I'm getting the same issues.  At this point it won't even let me download XNA Game Studio Connect.  I've used the Marketplace browser and the link you gave us and I get the error during download now. "Cannot download right now".

Yesterday I got the update then got the message about being out of date.  So I downloaded a new copy and got the same results.  When I pick up today same thing and I went to re-download and now I can't.
