    Team Registration?

How does this work exactly? Do all the team members create accounts or just the team leader?

    Re: Team Registration?

    According to the Rules:

For the avoidance of doubt, each member of a Team must individually register for the Contest prior to submission of an Entry by the Team.

    Re: Team Registration?

    Hi Jim

I have a similar question, when each of my team members register  must they register as a team entry and name ever person in the team, or can the just register themselves and somehow they will be link to my team registration.

    This is what I have:

I registered a team, and added all the members names and email as requested. Now the question is, do the same I did including team registration or do they make a single entry?

If you have any idea that would be of great help.

    Thank you in advanced,

    Frank

My friends and I have the same problem. We didnt know if everybody had to sign up everbody on the registration list. Is this going to be a problem since some of us registered all of the team members and some didnt?

    Re: Team Registration?

I think what makes this bad is that you can't add team members once you've registered as an individual.

According to that rule snippet, then yes, each team member needs to register, and should probably name all the members in his registration.

    Re: Team Registration?

My apology to all that might be experiencing some confusion around the registration process, however the rules clearly state: For purposes of this Contest, a Team consists of at least one (1), but not more than seven (7) eligible Participants (each a "Team"). Once you register, you can't change Teams and/or remove yourself and/or any other person from a Team.

So when you register yourself you also must list the members of your team at the point of registration.

    Thanks

    Re: Team Registration?

So a couple of things here. First and foremost please make sure everyone is registered. This is incredibly important.

If you have selected a team captain and when they registered they listed all memebers of their team, then this also works.

However if you are a team and no one at the point of registration enetered in any team memebers the work around will be this:

At the time that the contest winners are chosen, we will notify the individuals who have submitted the winning entries and ask that they confirm the members of their team.  Once this information is provided, we will ensure that each member of that winning team has completed the registration process.  If a team member of a winning team has not registered then they would not be included in the distribution of the prize money.

Obviously this is only important if you are selceted as one of the winning teams. Otherwise it is not an issue if you did not sign up as a team.

    Thanks

    Re: Team Registration?

Sorry to bring this up so near the deadline but I have a small problem.

I registered a team a while back and I was able to add addition team members after registration. I need to add a third person.

Curiously I can not seem to do this any longer. Is my only option to register a new team?

    Many thanks for your time

This is an excerpt from the Official Rules:

I appreciate that, but it has not always been the case and you were able to alter the team after setup.

In the end I have resorted to registering again with a different email.

    Re: Team Registration?

If I cannot alter my team, are there any rules stating that every single person that has contributed the sligthest needs to be registered on the team list or can that be up to be to split any possible winnings later? I've got a small contributor making a few content assets (no coding) for me that I only confirmed after I registered, can I just leave him out of the team registration, still have his stuff in the game or do I need to cut all that content from the game? Edit: Another question, in the reply I see that if the team members aren't registered they will not get part in the prize. So the prize will be evenly distributed over the team? Will there be a option for this? If it's not against the rules some of our team members have only contributed very little amount compared to the rest and might not have earned as big of share as the rest.

    Re: Team Registration?

    from the rules
' Individuals eligible for participation in the Contest may participate collectively as a "Team" '

I will be working as part of a team of 3, do we have to register as a team? Or can I just register, we do not want the extra hassle.

I think the whole point of team registration is to try and help prevent arguments over prize money. If you and your team trust each other enough, I don't think it matters - if you win, just divide the prize money out yourself :P

    Re: Team Registration?

Yeah, thanks for your view. I also thought it probably wouldn't matter as well, so I will just press ahead with a single registration.

    Re: Team Registration?

It might also affect your tax.... if one person is named then they technically win the money and will be taxed as such. If you are all registered then tax burden is shared... if you don't register everyone then make sure you take tax into account before you divide your winnings... nothng worse than splitting 50k into 5x10k and then one of you getting a 12k tax bill ;-) Thats when you find out who your friends are...

    Re: Team Registration?

If you're going solo, do you even need to create a team?  I didn't want to miss a team registration deadline and then find out you can't submit without being part of a team.
