Has anyone ever tried to make a fighting game with xna.

    Well the title says it all. I was wondering has anyone tried to make a fighting game for the competition. and if it was allowed in the rules.

    I've seen a couple 2D fighters (2D Super Smash Bros. style), I don't believe I've seen any 3D ones yet. But they could be out there. As for the rules of Dream Build Play, I don't see why a fighting game wouldn't be considered. Was there something in the rules specifically that worried you about entering a fighting game? I know there's a mention of violence, but if you've seen the winner from last year....

    I did a prototype of one in 2D.

     

    With DBP going on, I'm not going to reveal any particular secrets, but trust me, it's highly possible.

    I made this demo: Pipe Fighter , but I never finished it nor was I going to enter it in any contest (for obvious copyright issues). This was a demo from last year. I'm thinking of recreating it again (just one level) for a basis of my 2D game I'm going to create. There have been other fighters that have videos on youtube, just gotta search it.

    Those of you who are premium members should be able to see a couple of fighting games on marketplace now. It's not only possible, it's been done ;-)

    There are no starter kits for fighting games. I would bet that all those games are coded from scratch just using XNA Framework.
