I don't have any programming experience...

However my ultimate goal in life is to become a videogame designer.  I (like everybody) have ideas for games I feel will be successful.  But I also work in film and graphic design so I don't have a lot of time to learn everything from scratch.  I'll make this short, I'm just wondering what it takes for talented programmers to help someone as myself.  I don't have a lot of money but if it takes money, I'll certainly find a way to get it because seeing my ideas come to life is more important.  If I can't find anybody willing to help, can someone tell me whats the absolute best route to take as far as getting started?  I know nothing about programming so you're advice can be as dumbed down as you see fit.

    Thanks

There's some good info on the IGDA site. Also, read everything on Tom's advice page.

If people spent a minute searching the forums before posting I'd be out of a job.

+1 for the Sloperama link. There is a metric ton of good reading material there that everyone aspiring to make it into the video game industry should read, in my opinion.

Status: Meh. Brick wall on SilverLua. Plus, the launch of XBLCG is kicking my ass into gear to get a game finished, so I've been distracted.
