Movipa Mini Game - Now Available!

    Introducing Movipa!

Movipa is a complete mini game for XNA Game Studio. The project comes ready to compile and run, and it's easy to customize with a little bit of C# programming. You are also free to use the source code as the basis for your own XNA Game Studio game projects, and to share your work with others. Movipa was developed by AGENDA/Zenryokutei.

Movipa is a puzzle game involving moving images that demonstrate the following components:
    • Non-continuous rendering of puzzle tiles via texture coordinates
    • Asynchronous asset loading
    • Game state saving and loading
    • Multiple gameplay modes
    • Complex scene-description system for layered 2D scenes.
    • Skinned animation system, from the Skinning Animation sample on the XNA Creators Club website.

Movipa will be released on Thursday (PST) and will be available to all creators. In the mean time, check out the screenshots below:

     Is it tomorrow yet? :)

Just kidding, I'm sure it will be up at some point but figured I'd post this just to let you know there are people eager to see the new samples (and thankful for them!).

    Cheers,

The layout tool doesn't appear to work, not under Vista at least. :(

Clicking the OK button closes the window and nothing else appears to happen.

It tricked me too, what it does is "installs" the program to the directory in that dialog. If you got to that directory you will see a Layout tool folder with the real exe.

Sorry about the install issues - this tool is a 3rd party one that we linked to. We are working with the developers to get it fixed up.

The following has been added to the download page:

Please note that running the download of the tool will initially bring up a dialog which may not render all the buttons and characters correctly. This is actually an installation dialog. Select the path you wish to install the layout tool into and click OK. Then navigate to that path and you should find the layout tool installed. We are working to correct this installer and will update this page when it is ready.

The installer application that was available for download has been replaced with a zip file that you'll be able to extract to your desired location.

    Thanks for your patience!

Woah! I spent months working on a Flash -> XNA renderer to render sprite scene animations and a Japanese company goes and releases this amazing tool for free..

I don't know weather to laugh or cry! haha

Apparently the layout tool relies on MS XML 4.0 as well, which you can get here.

    I'm getting a compile-time error:

What are the min system specs for this game? I have dx 9.0c.
