Quick question on what we can use

I was browsing through the FAQ and forum, and had a question I could not find the answer to. The majority of my core gameplay is done, but I don't know if I'll have enough time to really do the graphics and music that I want to before the contest deadline (especially since I'll need to impliment at least a demo's worth of story and events). I've been using the assets from the RPG Starter kit, am I able to submit my entry with those assets?

The rules just state you need to have permission. The MS-PL gives you permission to do pretty much anything you want. My reading of it doesn't preclude you... but make your own determination.

Hopefully your gameplay is different enough from the RPG sample that your game looks original though. I can't see anyone winning with something that looks too much like sample code.

Its pretty much a complete engine re-write, but i built off the template. You would not be able to tell it was built off the RPG Starter Kit unless you looked at the code. (except the assets are the same, tiles used for the maps and such) :(
