    DBP Feedback

As I'm not sure if connect.microsoft is the proper place to place this suggestion so I'm posting this here.  If connect is the proper place then I'll be more than happy to place this suggestion there.

My suggestion is for this contest to give creators feedback on their game.  Not necessarly in depth feedback or anything that can cause controversy.  Maybe something as simple as a few status' that a game can receive:

    • Judged Successfully
    • Game Crashed
    • etc...

Ideally I'm sure all of us would like a bit more feedback such as:

    • Liked the User Interface
    • Button layout was confusing
    • Looking forward to your improved skills and future games ( feedback for the games that need a lot more work but won't hurt creators feelings )
    • Gameplay was fun
    • Graphics need more polish / professionalism
    • etc....

I know the feedback would be subjective based on the judges but I also think many of us creators who have entered all of the previous 3 contest would like feedback to at least know where we stand with what the judges are looking for and how they are viewing our games.  I think many of us will be able to improve our games based on the feedback.

    Thanks,

    - Matt D

    Re: DBP Feedback

The right place would be to email the contact email on http://www.dreambuildplay.com/

I seem to remember somebody asking for this lat year though and I don't believe anything happened. I would postulate that this is for 2 reasons:

    1. Just too many entries to reply to - it takes a lot more time to review if people have to make more extensive notes.

    2. Any response that comes from Microsoft would need to get some kind of legal review for consistency and objectivity otherwise one or 2 people would immediatly blog the feedback ripping Microsoft for choosing others over their game in a huge display of sour grapes... there was actually some of this in the fourms last time too.

Why not put the ccgame on your website on on community games - you KNOW most people in this forum love to give constructive criticism.

Yeah this is totally understandable to be fair, i wouldnt expect any sort of feedback from Microsoft relating to the entries.. dont get me wrong it would be awsome to get such valuable feedback but it just doesnt really feel realistic.

Your best critics are your players as ZMan suggested, post it for the public to see, but i feel for anyone with reluctance to do so, is it ever finished ? :(

Zman, that does make a lot of sense.  Thanks for responding.
