    XACT in a WinForms app?

    Hi Guys,

I'm making a childs-game where I will need to play multiples wavefiles simultanously. My googling has led me to belive this is best done using MDX(old style) or XACT. My question is: Can I use XACT in a none-XNA project? I want to use in from a standard WinForm Net 2 or 3.5 project(follow up, are there any examples of this?)

    regards,

You will have to add a reference to the xna-framework library and use the include statements to be able to play the sounds. Then you also have to make an xact project, but if you do all that it should work. I don't have an example right know, but if you want one I can try and make one for you.

Should work just fine but remember to call .Update on the sound engine regularly. Without a game loop you will have to hook a timer or the idle event or something to do that. Don't forget you are taking on quite a bunch of other dependencies such as XNA and parts of the DirectX SDK.
