Why Was My Game Taken Down?

One of my games, Spectrum, was taken down today.  If you click its link in my sig you get brought back to the Games Catalog.  And in My Projects its status is "Taken Down".  Yet I have recieved no notifications of any sort.  What gives?

You don't get informed when games are taken down

Well this is just dandy.  I have to find out myself that my game was taken down, and I don't even get a reason why?

I filed this to Connect.  In the meantime I hope I can get a reason or a suggestion as to why my game was taken down.

First off this is obviously a beta so features and processes are still being worked on (so thanks for helping us fix these issues!)

It appears the reason the game was takendown was due to it crashing on start up. Unfortunately I have no more details at present (what the setup is etc)

Going forward we want to make sure you guys have an opportunity to fix the game. Even more important will be the playtesting functionality which should eliminate a number of these issues up front before the game is sent to peer review or published

What is this "playtesting functionality" you talk about....? is this something new you've never mentioned before? Did the XNA team start making announcement on forums?

No. I'm the only one that makes announcements on forums ;). This is something we've been talking about trying to do since Gamefest '08. We're still working out all the nitty gritty.

I'm 'all ears' as well!  Some kind of easy way to beta-test things using community games subscribers (before make a game 'live' to all xbox users) would be a fantastic way to get feedback on game play as well as providing a means to testing on a wider range of hardware.

(thread jack: Catalin, can't wait for your August sample :) )
