    Hello guys.

Related to this other proposal, I just filled a request on Connect about the need of multilanguage support for game info images. I've post it also in a dedicated thread. Please, vote for it!

Not now. I was wrong when telling you it's because of the lack of translator. He said me he has Italian translator, but not French one (someone started the job, but now is missing). Anyway, you would be more than welcomed to review the texts. All we know that just one translator isn't always enough to catch all problems. Now Johnny has your e-mail. Thank you guys!

Spanish (Latin American, as well as proper Spain-Spanish)

But i'm British! For now though, I can't review anything, but I dunno - maybe someone wants their South American stuff looked over to make sure it looks right to people from Spain?

Now you're on the list of non-English speakers:

Can I ask you how the hell can you speak both Latin American Spanish and Spanish of Spain properly? I'm Spanish and I can't speak properly Latin American Spanish. They use some different vocabulary (not only slang), expressions and even grammar.

    Trevelyan:

That's what I did with "CaveIn - Miner Rescue Team" localization. Was in Spanish of Venezuela and I changed some expressions to Spanish of Spain, apart from reviewing the whole thing ;-)

Just one more thing, Trevelyan. Do you know exactly from where is your Latin American Spanish? Because Spanish of Mexico isn't the same of Spanish of Argentina...

Re: Are you a non-English-speaking reviewer?

How are you doing guys? I just want to know your opinion about how to translate the brand-new kinda official naming convention for Xbox LIVE Community Games achievement-like systems: Awards.

    kathleen sanders:

    4. We shouldn’t use words like Achievements and Leaderboards. We don’t technically have them, so it makes it confusing. Some folks have found some uncanny workarounds, but for everyone’s happiness please don’t call them Achievements and Leaderboards. We like the word “Awards.”

Could you post in the corresponding forum thread please? I would like to read about your proposals for Spanish, French and Italian "Award" translations. Thanks in advance!

Re: Are you a non-English-speaking reviewer?

I just wanted to announce here that I have submitted CaveIn for peer review.  Thanks much to Abel for his work on my game.  My release plan is as follows.  First I will release the game in English and Spanish and excluding release in France and Italy.  After I pass, I will release CaveIn in all regions and languages including Italian, thanks to my new friend nikeman.  This will hopefully at least get me out there by Christmas in most regions.

Thanks again to this great community.

I'm glad your game is finally in review again. It's now, in my opinion, the best example of playtesting use. Seriously.

So, now the game pending list is as follows:

    • French

PuzzXXI isn't in playtest any more, Amazing Wrizard removed multilanguage support and CaveIn is for now just in Spanish (apart from English) and in review.

Hi guys, I just got back on here... we had a little bit of trouble with a river down here.... Anyway.. I guess that Abel was right about italian reviews.. I just got one from Italy, and I'm worried I will have to post my game just in English... It shouldn't be this way... People who try to localize their games should get some kinda help I guess instead of getting stuck. There is no game out there that support Italian... Do we have to remove Italian too?

I don't hope so. Let me know anyway. They would be really bad news for the Italian community.

nikeman, I want to review your game, but I really haven't time enough. Fortunately, I'm not Italian, and it seems that other English speakers are covering my gap. I really hope you'll get those Italian reviews. If I were you, I wouldn't want to remove my mother tongue from my own game... It's quite sad...

I agree, it's REALLY sad. I'm thankful to the English reviewers and we hope we won't have to do that.. A-less

This is the updated pending games list:

    • French

Sadly, Writer's Block isn't in the Italian section any more due to the lack of Italian reviewers :-(

Johnny, I encourage you to give Italian a try. Why don't you publish it in English, Spanish and French BUT in all regions (including Italy) and, then, try to do the same, but adding Italian?. Doing that you move the responsibility to Italian people. If they want your game in Italian, they need to approve it. If not, they'll have it in English. It's up to them. But, anyways, I think you should give Italian a go. Think that Writer's Block problem was that the author couldn't approve his own game, and that means an Italian guy less. But that's not the case.

    Hi guys!
I made hexothermic and it seems to be stuck at 80% in review, im thinking this is because of the languages. Is there any chance any one can review it in french? I think about 3 people have passed it in spanish. Thanks so much this thread is amazing for localizing!
I am suprised there arnt more games in multi languages though, especially with so many generous offers to translate the games!

    Appriciate you guys

    Hi Dave,

Yes French reviewers and italians are hard to find. It is really a problem.
I'll try to find some time and review Hexothermic this afternoon. I havent done many reviews since we are pretty busy right now.
If it's not enough, R3dDr4g0n the other member of our team will try to review it as well in french.

thanks so much, it knocked it up 9% so only 11% left, so one or two more french reviews should do the trick!

Wish the percentage things would show how much is done for each language. because people can review it in english and not add any percentage.

    nehoo, cheers!

    • French

Hexothermic has definitely approved, both in French and Spanish (and English, of course), becoming the first game with 3 languages which has passed the peer-review. Congratulations! On the other hand, Petank Party is here again to solve some bugs.

So, the non-English games which have been approved so far are:

I'm glad this list is increasing but, of course, I want it to grow more and more ;-)

We, as non-English reviewers need to continue offering our support to the rest of the authors so that if they don't translate their games it should be due to any other reason different from the fear of not passing the peer-review :-D

Thank you so much to all the people who are making multilanguage support possible. Seriously. I think it's one of the most important subject this Community has to retake...

    Hi,

I speak and write in four different languages, and they are:

    English
    Bosnian
    Croatian
    Serbian

    Hope this can help.

Hi Bosna. Thanks for posting here. Unfortunately, just English, Spanish, French and Italian are supported languages for Comunity Games right now. I could add you to the non-English speakers list, but I think it could be useless until Microsoft accepts your languages as valid ones here. Anyway, let me know if you want to create those lists, and you'll be the first one on them.

    Hello,

Yeah you can add the list if you wish. I will be more than happy to translate that for them. Until then, I can just focus on something else. :)
