Re: Are you a non-English-speaking reviewer?

CaveIn is back in peer review to address some map bugs that was found by a dedicated fan of the game. I was giving CaveIn a break before I submitted the french version, but now I have to address this first before I submit another language. Thanks for help all.
Also, here is a link I'll share from IGN that is thanks to all the people that helped playtest CaveIn. Especially all the folks on this thread.

Re: Are you a non-English-speaking reviewer?

I'm available for Italian translations, but with some "basic", simple conditions.
They are similar to the ones that Abel Garcia Plaza posted, except for the fact that I have more time and I can work on longer translations :D
I'll rewrite them to be sure:
- First of all the font, it must support all the Italian special characters. That means ì, è, é, à, ò, ù. But if you use the custom SpriteFont processor in the localization sample it should be ok.
- Of course, the support for variable words. That means, "boys" is a separate thing from "boy", not "boy"+"s". Or better, if you must use a word more than once in your game, it's better if you write another string. Different contexts can lead to different translations of the same word.
- Even the Italian texts are longer than the English ones (most of the times), so leave me a way to handle that.
- About context references, I need them of course, altough a direct line with the author (MSN, etc.) really helps in this case.
You can contact me at themyx231 (AT) hotmail (DOT) it
At this time I'm still not able to review your game, but in some weeks I hope to get the premium membership instead of the trial so I'll let you know.

Johnny Death:CaveIn is back in peer review
Ok. So, the updated pending games list is as follows:
TheMyx:I'm available for Italian translations
Now you and your offer are in the corresponding lists. Please, let us know when you become a reviewer. I'm sure some people here will be glad of that, as Italian reviewers are highly needed. Indeed, an Italian game, Writer's Block, removed Italian language because of the lack of Italian reviewers and Johnny is thinking about supporting Italian or not in CaveIn - Miner Rescue Team, depending on the possibility of passing peer-review if he adds your language.

Hi guys,
finally another Italian reviewer... I still think we aren't enough to pass a game... Maybe if 3 of us review Johnny's game, then it will pass with italian language... but if I send back Writer's block, then I will have just 2 reviewers... This thing needs to be fixed.

Re: Are you a non-English-speaking reviewer?

I'm not sure if I've come to the right place - or even allowed to ask, but...
My game ( Air Legends) is in Playtest at the moment, because a showstopper bug was found playing in different languages. Not a translation problem - it's English language only. The bug was to do with how some other languages express decimal points differently. Commas, not dots. etc...
Anyway I've fixed and tested as thoroughly as I can by changing the language on my console. Works for me now, but I'm not sure if different Locale settings may also have an effect. I was unable to change the locale setting on my console.
For peace of mind I'd appreciate if someone in perhaps France, Italy, Spain can playtest the game for me and let me know.
Thanks in advance.
p.s. the symptom of the original bug was scaling of some of the models all messed up. Start an Air Show game and giant planes would obscure your view. xD

Sharky NZ:
I don't see how you don't be able to ask for playtesting here, specially if you experienced problems with non-English consoles. I'll try it as soon as possible.
By the way, Petank Party and CaveIn - Miner Rescue Team were approved, so the current list of pending games is as follows:

Thanks. I checked out FxCop as you suggested, and looks good.

Well, it seems we have a non-English games drought. Just the never-ending story of Doodleman continues. It has been re-submitted for peer-review when it was about to be passed. So, here is the updated pending games list:

That's because it failed when it was about to be passed.
An update for Doodleman is currently in Playtesting. Check it out!

Yeah, I didn't write the reason for re-submitting it because I thought it was ovbious. But it seems it wasn't ;-)

Hi, I'm a new premium member of Creators Club !
I'm french, and I intend to review games (as well as making my own). So, you can put me in the French reviewers. Also, if someone need a small translation (i.e. not a story, but menus, options, items, ...), I can give a little help.

Can you write some thread/post somewhere to specify your offer a bit? For example, how to contact with you or how many words (roughly) are you willing to translate. If you just post here again, I'll reference your post in the corresponding list, as I did with TheMix's offer.
By the way, in my opinion, if you are using your website for letting English speakers (here, about 99.99% of us are, at least, English speakers) know about your game, I recommend you to have an English version of it.

Re: Are you a non-English-speaking reviewer?

Hi. It seems that Battle-X doesn't contain any Italian text at all and the French and Spanish translations are just for the game info descriptions. I've updated the pending game list as follows:
- French
- in playtest: Battle-X (just game info description)
- Spanish
The game description is, as usual, quite short, so maybe someone here could help Battle-X author to improve the French or Spanish ones. The latter was wrong and I personally offered my version, but I guess French one would contain also errors. In addition, I'm sure more Spanish description versions will be welcomed (I didn't translate it literally, so...).

Some games have new URL's and/or have been relocated from peer-review to playtest.
By the way, Kittie's Mazes authors seem to have problems with Spanish and Italian translations, which were made by an automatic translator. Would anybody like help them? Thanks in advance.

Hi rafaro. Depending on the amount of text you need to translate/review and your requirements about deadlines, I could help you (I guess you need a Spanish speaker). Just send me an e-mail and we'll see what can we do.

Re: Are you a non-English-speaking reviewer?

The Brain Deluxe folk pretty much did their best shot and/or used a translation tool. Then they put it in playtest and I got them to email me their list of Spanish -> English translations and I just corrected them. I think I managed to get 95% of them without any context other than playing the game for a few minutes.
So I would suggest that as a way to speed things up - take a crack at it yourself or using google and then post a text list for us to fix up.

Hello, I speak Spanish (from Spain) as well as English. I had just signed for a premium account, and reviewed a few games.
I'm gonna check this post for new Spanish games to review.
Regards to everyone!
