    Invalid SSN/TIN?

I just received an email from the XNA Team that said my SSN/TIN was not valid for my name. I looked over the information and it seems valid. What could this mean? Is it a bug?

Does this mean I don't have to pay taxes? ^^

Same here, and I've had my ITIN number for quite some time.

Same here. I entered my ss#  with dashes (000-00-0000). After getting an email saying it was invalid I went back and re-entered it without the dashes, which hopefully was the issue. It was very unclear as to why it thought my number wasn't valid.

I got the same thing.  I wrote my SSN without dashes and with my full legal name exactly as I write it on my taxes.  I even got a social security statement recently and compared the name on that to the name I wrote.  Something seems to be wrong here...

you could try sending an email to Creators@microsoft.com. They might forward the email to the appropriate people.

    Re: Invalid SSN/TIN?

    Guys,

The site uses a service provided by the IRS to automatic TIN validation. Unfortunately the service has not been working as expected, which has given us incorrect entries which should have passed. We're now using a different process which should have resolved the issue

For those that got the 'invalid SSN/Name combo' email incorrectly then your validation should have been re-run
