Long story short, here you’ll find:

• A list of games to be playtested/reviewed in any language different from English.
• A list of already approved games which are in any language different from English
• A list of reviewers who speak languages different from English.
• A list of creators who speak languages different from English, but can’t review.
• A list of offers for translating your game into languages different from English (because translation does matter).

All these lists will be updated periodically. If you’re subscribed to this thread (look up above this thread on the left - there is a button to subscribe), you’ll receive a notification in your mailbox each time this happens.

You’re invited to collaborate in this thread:

• Telling us if you are a non-English-speaking creator, and how you can help the others.
• Notifying us that your game is localized, but isn’t in the list.
• Asking others to post here if you think this thread will be useful for them and/or them useful for the thread.
• Respecting general forum rules, specially avoiding forbidden requests.

Please, before reviewing a game, make sure you have read the official valid reasons for failing due to language issues.

Replies to this thread will be treated like FAQ updates. Abel or a moderator will update the relevant post and then delete your post... don't be offended its all about keeping the thread useful for everyone.

Have you noticed that there are not so much Community Games localized in languages different from English? And do you know why this happens? Well…

On the one hand:

• The number of non-English speaking creators is relatively low, and…
• Their positive vote is needed in order to pass games in their languages, but...
• Not all people are aware of this problem, and…
• Even if they are, there’s no official way to be notified when a game needs help (review, translation, etc.), so…
• If your game is localized, it could get stuck and, eventually, never be approved.

On the other hand:

• Some people want to localize their games, but…
• They don’t speak the languages they target, and…
• They have no way to find translators for those languages, and…
• If they find someone, they still have to face the lack of reviewers for those languages.

Sure you now understand how useful a multilanguage creators meeting point, like this, could be.

FYI: I'm publishing an Italian Resource File in Dictionary format. It would be nice if some Spanish, German, Japanese and French mother tongue creator are willing to start a similar resource for their own language.

There are no translation offers for English to Japanese.  Where or how would I go about finding someone?  Please delete this post if it is inappropriate for this thread.  But please let me know if you have an answer.

Hello Multi-language folk.

My game, "Flite" is going to have to be reviewed by a variety of peeps, as although it is in English it includes a few words of

French, German and italian in the intro and the last unlockable also includes 1 sentance of french(ish).

Hi all,

It’s been a long time since I made the last update to this thread’s lists and I’d like to clarify what probably all you already guess: I’m no longer updating the thread. Unfortunately, I just have no time to do so. In fact, I don’t even have time to follow the news and games that are released regularly in this site. I never had time to start my own game but felt I needed to contribute to this adventure somehow and, so, I started this thread. But now I’m basically out of date in terms of XNA knowledge and I no longer consider myself able to continue contributing. Hopefully, I’ll return to this site in the future, when I have some time to spend on this.

  I propose to take Abel's turn, and to take care of this Multilanguage thread. I understand it would consist of ensuring up to date lists of
- games to be playtested/reviewed
- approved games
- multilang reviewers / creators
- offers for translation

I would watch the playtest/review lists, and add any game that needs non-english reviewing. In order to do so, I'd like to have a rss feed with new games, but I can't find any. Does it exist?

I'd like to add that I am fully committed to xna development and the xna community : I am currently working full time on these. The game I am currently working on supports 5 languages : English French Spanish German Japanese. I speak English and French, and I have friends who are fluent in these other languages, who did the translation work for German Spanish and Japanese.

For this thread to be convenient to use, I would need Abel to update his first post with links to the new lists. Abel, are you reading this? Do you agree?
