    [DBP entry] Little Gamers

    Hey guys,

I've finally have a demo up and ready of my Little Gamers project, for XBOX360.

Edit: Here's a video of the whole playthrough for those who want to see how it is and don't own an XBOX360

5 levels are included in this prototype, ranging from poking hippies to heavy gun fights with hitmen on a building (some rumors also talk about you driving a huge robot equipped with dual rocket launchers... :) )
If you've played the demo released on IRC, be aware that this version has one more level and much more polish.

If you want to see some screenshot just click here

And you can download the XBOX360 package here

Please report and issues that you may encouter, and have fun !

This game is fantastic!  Great presentation and overall polish.  The characters, while simple, show life and fluid animation which brings everything together.  The variety of weapons keeps the entertainment level high, and when accompanied by hilarious and compelling power-ups, you can't go wrong.  I've followed this game for a little while now and am very excited to finally be able to play it.  Perhaps most intriguing is the level builder that I have seen mentioned on your blog and on ziggyware - I would love to know more about how that was accomplished as I would like to do something very similar for my game in the not too distant future.  In the meantime I will enjoy playing your entry; good luck in the contest!

Hi, technical your entry looks nice and makes fun to play. Maybe a bit too violent for me, but I think thats a matter of taste...

You have everything set up for a great game but now you need to put some platforming and slopes in the levels. At the moment you're just walking from left to right (or right to left) killing everything in sight.

    Thanks guys :)

As for platforms it should be coming in some levels. and there is already vertical one.

I've already told you how much I like this game on IRC, but since I'm commenting on all of the others I've played here I'll do the same for LG.  I love the graphics and style of the game, as well as all of the professional polish with effects and transitions.  Really very well done.

    My suggestions are:

    * It's obvious you haven't tried it on an SDTV because the text is unreadably small and screen items go outside of the CRT safety zone.

    * I'd like to be able to use the dpad on menus.

    * The poking stick is way too powerful!  ;-)

    * As you know, it needs more variety (both levels and attacks) before it's complete.  What you have gives a great sample of the final product though, and I haven't tired of it yet.

Thanks for sharing the demo, and good luck!

Thanks for your comments Tom :)

As for the CRT, I don't own one anymore so indeed I couldn't test it. I'll probably add a XBOX only GUI placement, because I don't want to use the space on Windows.

For the DPAD I'll add that.

Poking stick is teh win :)

As for level variety I'll add "multi levels" architecture, though it will not be revolutionary. But the attacks won't change, I prefer to provide variety with weapons (more "different" weapons are coming).
The new mode and player customisation hopefully will make up for that ;)
