Silly quick question...Indexes, indeces, indices.

    Silly quick question...Indexes, indeces, indices.

    Which one is the correct term?

    Indexes, indeces, indices.

    The context here is drawing a primitive such as a triangle.  We use Vertices and Ind.....

    Thanks to anyone who can clear this up.  I read different spellings on various different websites.

    I say indices, but that's not to say that's necessarily the only correct one (if it's actually a correct spelling at all). On a similar linguistic note, what is the plural of "thesis"? Is it "theses"? Sounds a bit too much like another word...

    indexes and indices both have similar definitions on dictionary.com.  Indeces isn't a word.

    Indices is the correct spelling.

    In case you didn't know, this can easily be done in Visual Studio by going to the variable, right-click, Refactor, Rename. Easier and less error-prone than both manual and automated search-and-replace.
