    HurricaneX -DBP Entry

It is said that god of the wind was killed by eight villains who had stolen the power of the wind and brought great disasters to the innocent people. As the only hero in the game who can control the power of hurricane, the player decided to fight back and bring peace again....

    Hello,everyone,
After working extremely hard for three months and suffering from the upload problem, finally we have the chance to introduce you a really cool game called "HurricaneX" which is our entry for the DBP competition.

Hurricane X is a fighting arcade game.People can control the player to exploit the beautiful oriental combat moves to fight against massive enemies one battle after another or just release the powerful hurricane to kill them all at one move.

We are coming from Shanghai China, and our team consists of one game designer(also developer), one engine and toolkit developer and one artist.Because we were too busy on this project,we even didn't have enough time to name our team.Since it's end of the entry day,we will relax for a while and continue to make it better for final version and pick up a cool name for our team.:)

Best of luck to everyone who will deserve their long time hard work.

Thank you for watching our videos. That's our honour to share the works with every genius here.
Several mouths ago, we heard about DBP contest, at that time, as the 3 of our team: Huling had developed an C++ 3DEngine already, I had a fighting game prototype under dos, and our good friend Kobunketsu was quite experienced in game art. So we decided to work together and planned to create a legend here, that's HurricaneX.

It's impossible for us to create this stuff from nothing in 3 months :).

I'm sure playing the demo of HurricaneX will be far more exciting than just watch the videos. We shall consider carefully about sharing this demo now or later, because we do not know if there is any problem on business if we doing so, though I feel too bad to saying so. HurricaneX means not only the honour for us, but also about our future life because it's hard to make a living by developing arcade game in China.

    Best regards!

Really great stuff, I love the kung fu physics you have going on with the bodies flying everywhere :D

If you cant get a demo up you should try to get some high quality video up at stage6 (www.stage6.com), all the encoders and apps are free and it'll look a tonne better than the youtube stuff.

I'm both impressed and excited about your entry.
Congratullations from the Nivel21 Entertainment team!

I think your entry trully represents the power behind XNA development, and endorses what MS was pursuing promoting this contest. For the rest of us, you have now become the reference, personally, your are our heros!

Good look for the rest of us, you guys just don't need that xD

    Re: HurricaneX -DBP Entry

No matter what wiil be the final result for our game in the DBP contest , we will continue to polish the game, adding more assets like enemies ,boss and stages, make the gameplay more attractive as our goal is to let HurricaneX be a game which meet the  requirement for a game to be published on PC or XBLA. And we still have a long way to go.

What if Microsoft will provide us with more than one opportunity as we have really great games here such as Shuggy.

It has been a long way to see this game come together, guys. I still remember playing the old DOS prototype. Back then it was already great fun. I'm amazed at the polish level you guys managed to pull off in this short amount of time. Way to go, wondergust.
