Direct X SDK March 2009 setup error

    Direct X SDK March 2009 setup error

    For some reason when i try to install the directx sdk i get a the error of Error Code:S1023. I've searched all across the internet but have found nothing of any type of help to me. Can anyone on these forums help me with this error? Below are my system specs which i believe are important.

    I'm on windows xp x64 sp2
    DirectX version installed:9.0c

    This post is old but the error code lives on.  The solution I found was to not install the symbols.  By default, the symbol files installation is NOT installed.  One would have to select it (as I did).  That caused the error code for me.  The installer was successful the second time because (I assume) I did not install the symbol files.

    I have experienced such problem with Vista x86 SP1. I fixed it with SP2 installed, although I think it may be due to some services/apps (try to restart system and execute it right away).
