    Selling Zune Games

With the release of the new Alien game for Zune are we going to see the beginning of a way to sell games for the Zune? Did I miss the memo that there is already a way to sell Zune games?

There was no memo. There is no change in this area

If the Sheriff of Finance says so...

I sure hope this does change at some point, however. I would love to sell games on Zune.com...

Have you ever written an email or posted to a forum only to read what you wrote and think that maybe other people reading it might not be able to read your mind and understand why you wrote what you did? I just had such an experience.

As I wrote the previous comment what was going through my mind was a couple of things. I thought it was pretty cool that the Sheriff of Finance would take the time to answer my posting. I was also thinking about how if someone at that level was replying then I can be sure what they say is the case (as opposed to just anyone replying with their opinion about the subject). I also thought the tag line "Sheriff of Finance" was funny and yet so very true. Having a few friends who work at Microsoft I am a little bit familiar with what a program manager gets to do. Sherrif of Finance is very approriate indeed.

Anyway, I just didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about my posting. Some day we will have text that will convey our thoughts along with our words :-)

I think we can safely add a "yet" to the end of this :P

I would be *very* suprised if this didn't change in the future. Apple are making a killing doing exactly this, and Microsoft already have most of this in place with XNA/Marketplace. I believe there's already been some announcement about something Zune Marketplace/Xbox Live related towards the end of the year, though I don't remember exactly what.

Personally I'm still waiting for the ZunePhone. Microsoft already have Windows Mobile software, and Xbox and Zune hardware. Throw a little phone hardware into the Zune and launch the Zune Marketplace and we've got an MS-iPhone :-) I love Microsoft, and I hate Apple, but I have an iPhone but it's so nice and Windows Mobile is so poooo (and in the UK we *STILL* don't have the Zune). Please Microsoft, save me from this Apple fanboy nonsense hardware I'm using ;o(
