I want to decorate the bars in my game with continually changing slogans and such.

It is a massive space epic type game, so I am having some problems paraphrasing the usual stuff and could do with some ideas.

I have run a LOT of pubs, many have little slogans painted on the wall, I'm sure you have seen the sort of thing.

Lady Aster:               Sir! You are drunk!
Winston Churchill:      Yes madam, and you are ugly, but in the morning I shall be sober.

I would rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

I also keep my eyes open for good bits of grafitti. I saw this on a wall in the centre of Eastleigh, which did make me laugh.

For god's sake won't someone please give me hope!

The trouble is they don't really fit the space epic theme. The easy stuff can be added, things like

For a good time call Zarniwoop on 98798698634087516987354050360861058701656782523659871438601 20 yyarns per wern, 12 ppprats per gerat.

However, other than that, I am struggling.

Any ideas guys?

You could use phrases from known sci-fi movies (Coneheads would he a great source, e.g., snarfal the garfark). 

Or, you might try taking known quotes & adding si-fi elements that the audience might be familiar with, (I can resist anything except Orion slave girls) or just make up the nouns in existing phrases.  For the sake of the Overlord, won't someone give me a flabberfafg.

They kind of come under the "easy stuff" label, I was hoping for more subtle stuff.

The only one I can think of at the moment is "Emergency towel replacement, dial 555-dryme" and even that isn't really up to scratch.

"go stick your head up a pig" would make a few people laugh, but most will miss the reference.

"stuck in wall, send help"

which I suppose could become

"stuck in interchamber reinforcement structure, send help"

I would find a sci-fi fiction forum, or writers forum and post in there and ask for ideas. Tell them every quote will get a name in the credits, or even in the graffiti themselves.. writers are like artists - sometimes they want recognition.

Not a bad idea, I'll have a dig.

I'm thinking of having hints appear in the grafitti as well, key locations for side quests could appear randomly.

"Laser!? I hardely knew her!"

"Han Shot First"

"Friends don't let friends fly"

"Autopilot, a drunk's best friend"

"So, what's a Grobulan like you doing in a place like this?"

"He doesn't like you.  I don't like you either!"

"Take me drunk, I'm in Sector 4,5"

"Beam me up another one, Bartender"

"Damn it, I'm a Bartender, not a Doctor!"

"You hear what happened to that red-shirt yesterday?"

etc..

"Autopilot, a drunk's best friend"

Like that one.

I didn't have much luck coming up with anything yet, looks like I may have to use the "easy stuff".
