I want to buy a premium membership but i dont have a credit card and i dont want to use my debit card is there a why that I can buy a visa giftcard or something like that and use it instead?  Thanks for all responses.

The only way that I know of is to use a credit card to purchase the upgrade. Sometimes you might find a free code at events, but they are rare.

I dont see any reason that a visa gift card wouldn't work. Its a valid visa card and you can use them anywhere on the internet. However I can't actually find a definitive answer on xbox.com that says it will work.

While I haven't tried it (actually, I don't even own an xbox), it should work fine. They are actually creditcards, just pre-paid ones. If they work in the store by swiping it, it will work online, or on xbox live. They can't see it as anything but a credit card.

IDK if they have fixed/changed anything but a couple of months ago I tried using a pre paid visa and it gave me an error when I tried to get a premium membership from my xbox but its worth giving it a try.

I am going to get a visa giftcard and give it a shot.  If that is the case you might see me post stuff a lot more often and try to help people out.  Oh and I've been wanting to review and play test games for ever so if this works out I'll be there to help out. If you have a checking account, I would also check with your bank.  Every bank that I have been with offers a check card of some sorts that can usually double as a debit or credit card.  The credit card side of it just pulls from your available balance, but acts like a credit card with respect to websites and stores that accept credit.

I've never used a prepaid card, but I've heard that they have some pretty rediculous fees associated with them.  The bank card would have none (if it does, I would look for a new bank).

Those Visa cards work for me all the time. Like others have said, its like a prepaid credit card. I cant imagine why they wouldnt accept it.

He used a visa giftcard. And it worked, because he now has a premium membership icon.
