Well, the truth is you can't. That's not a feature available to the general public or even premium members. To be able to burn discs you would need to have an XBox Dev Kit and be an registered XBox developer (and even then there may be rules since that is all under NDA and all the details are not known). Those dev kits don't come cheap, it's currently estimated they run abou $10,000.

So in short, if you don't have an XBox 360 dev kit, you cannot burn discs.

ahh.. would be nice to keep your beautiful creatons stored on a DVD or something (like for XNA CC Premium, but you have to be the developer), it would be nice because A) Stores them Safely, B) Make Awesome Labels, C)Save space for XBLA\XBLIG Games

Even if DVDs were supported it would still require a Premium Subscription so unless your friends are paying for the subscription, the DVD still wouldn't do them any good.

Re: Burning game to disk (For 360)

If you really want to plan on their Xbox, you can copy the ccgame file (the same file you create when going to playtest/review) to their computer. Once there, you would need to install XNA and Game Studio Express.

On the Xbox, you'd need to login with a premium account (yours or theirs... I'm unsure Microsoft's stance on using your account outside of your own Xbox), install and run the XNA launcher program.

I believe then by doubleclicking on the ccgame file, it should run the program that copies that file to the Xbox (the launcher program needs to be running for this to occur).

So yeah, there is a way to play on your friend's Xbox (basically setting it up exactly like your dev environment)... but it's not as easy as burning a disk... I really, really wish it was. It would be nice to have the option to try and sell the game outside of online too... for instance several places in town will stock items from local artists/writers and having the option to go to a football game or something, bring a tv, and try and sell some copies of your game would be a cool idea too. I suppose you could actually sell tokens to let people download your game, but you'd be limited to 50 gamers.

technically, you can do this. Burn the ccgame to a disc of your choice and preserve it. You can label it and everything.

However, you won't be able to drop it in and play it.... for that you'll have to deploy it like normal.

That's a brilliant idea! If we could have > 50 tokens, that would be a great way to sell games at school/work/events/etc. I think you should make a Connect issue for that!

I belive the rule is that you are specifically NOT allowed to sell your tokens.... think about it. You are cutting Microsoft out of the loop here. They won't get their cut on those 50 sales.

Hopefully nobody actually does this... I suspect at the very least its a bannable offense and at worst they would remve the benefit for everyone.

I agree. The tokens are for reviews or freebie copies. I'd really hate to see Microsoft retract that addition based on some people misusing the tokens.

Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. Good point.

What if you could buy the additional tokens? Pay Microsoft their 30% per token and you can do what you like with it?

Although, theoretically if you priced the game at 80 points and then sold the token keys in person for $20, MS might take offense...

Still, if that problem could be solved it would be awesome. Sure you could direct people to your trial, but in person you might have a better chance of badgering them into making a decision then and handing over their money, rather than giving them time to try the demo at their leisure and think "Hmm, maybe I don't really want this as much as I thought" and being able to conveniently push out the mental images of the starving developer selling their game in person. ;-)

There is another option here that hasn't been mentioned.

Since Game Studio Connect v2 (IIRC) the games that are deployed can run on other machines, so long as you have a CC subscription.

So, if you're just trying to get some games to a friends place you can just load them load them onto an MU along with your profile.

Yes I agree... don't sell those 50 free tokens.

If there were another option where we could buy additional tokens, then maybe the whole selling offline could work. But that's not an option now and maybe never will be.
