thank you for the suggestions.  Races are kind of hard in the game, since you don't have a whole lot of control over your speed (other than landing jumps smoothly, and therefore losing less speed).  The game is currently focused on tricks and scoring, with high scores for each track recorded.  You get points for flips, as well as holding "stylish" poses (basically leaning fully left or right as if grabbing the board).  The longer you hold that pose in the air, the more style points you accumulate.

Overall, instead of getting down the run quickly, the challenge is actually making it to the bottom without crashing (and then, getting a higher score once you can do that).

I do agree though that some kind of multiplayer mode would be cool.  If I can think of a system that is not too complex, I may think about adding it, but I'm leary to add too many new features to the game, as I want to finish it at some point (preferably in the next month or so, in time for the ski season) :)

Powerups are planned, probably some kind of rocket that you pick up, and can then use for a limited time thereafter.  I think I can make some fun runs that make use of that.  Some kind of boost that takes skill to activate might be cool, I'll think about that too.

I should have a new version for playtest by next weekend.

Ha ha, this looks like fun.

I do agree that it is kind of LineRider-ish, but I love that game.  The one ask I would have - I know with would be an art nightmare - is to add spins with maybe the face buttons (A and B?)  So the player could run through a frontside/backside 180 by hitting A/B.  It would break up just flipping.

I have to second all of the secondary game modes.  I think a "jump through rings" mode, or a 2 player game of "horse" would be cool.

Quick progress update... we have ROCKET pickups now.  Pick these up in the level, and you get 1 second of ROCKET BOOST to use whenever you want :)

    The pickup

    Using it :)

I'm looking forward to making some levels that make use of this.

I've also added some nice control assists as well, so I'm interested to hear people's reaction at the next playtest (probably next weekend)
