hi I thought I read the limit is 3gb now.does that mean we can only total use 3gb of space on the drive?our just the game exe can only be 3gb.

A game that you deploy from Visual Studio can be up to 2GB in size, if I remember correctly.
A game that you submit to XBLIG can be no larger than 150MB as a CCGAME.

These size limitation are only relative to deploying to the Xbox 360.
A windows game can be of any size, iirc.

The 3 GB limit is the maximum
process virtual size
on a system with 4 GB of memory in it, for a 32-bit process. XNA games are currently always running as 32-bit processes. The size on disk has nothing to do with the process virtual size used by the game.
