    win7 upgrade and XNA development

    Hi guys,

I'm planning an win7 upgrade for my laptop (being vista a little slow). I've seen it in action and win7 seems very responsive.

The question is: which kind of issues with XNA/Visual c# I will encounter (I can expect) after the upgrade?

Everything runs smoothly or there are shadow zones? Please share with me your win7/xna experiences with focus on the xbox development/deployment.

Hi! I've been running the release candidate since it came out and I'm now running W7 Ultimate. So far I haven't had any problems with XNA or visual studio. However XACT has quit on me a few times but I don't know if W7 is the problem, it probably isn't.
As for the speed of the system, I'm not sure W7 is that much faster than Vista, sure it doesn't  have all the issues vista had, but I don't think it's that much faster. But W7 is much nicer to work with overall so I suggest you go out and make that upgrade!
    Good luck! :P

Thank you! ....and to be honest I had lots of problem with xact on vista, it works fine until I try to play an audio file, in that case it freezes.
Audio is played correctly (using xact) into win7?

I'm now running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit edition. It's a nice upgrade...very responsive, stable, and it looks very polished.

XNA has been working perfectly so far. I haven't hit any issues, so there's really not much more I can say. I would recommend it.

Oh, and if you have a college or university email address, go to www.win741.com and get a copy of 7 for $30. :)

I have been running windows 7 for a while now and havn't had a problem. Have one notebook with a freash install, and a desktop that was a vista to windows 7 upgrade and neither have given me any problems.
