Zune HD Networking, TCP/IP, not Ad hoc

I know that this may be out in left field but microsoft somehow allowed themselves to run a browser on the Zune HD, how can programmers write apps that allow us to utilize TCP/IP so we're not constrained by the XNA net framework? Goin nuts tryin to figure it out...
    Thanks

You can't. The only public API for the Zune HD is the XNA Framework which doesn't expose any web functionality. You can use the Xna.Net APIs to do multiplayer gaming and that's it.

Any chance this is going to change?  IMHO, this is a major short coming.  Unless you want the Zune slogan to be "You can't write an app. for that".

    Nothing has been announced.

    Thank you for your response.

I was hoping to use this device to send a magic packet to my sleeping HTPC.  I saw the UDP stuff in "regular" .NET.  I am really shocked to see there isn't even basic http support.  That's really going to cripple main stream app. development.

Is there a good way contact Microsoft with requests?  They seem to be more open these days...

Though I'll tell you now they've already had and closed requests for System.Net access. It doesn't seem likely to change.

Well maybe if they get enough of them, they'll get the message.  :)

    Thanks for your help!

You can simply vote up the existing one. Plus this is a common request; I'm sure they're aware people want it.
