Question about Maya Visibility option in XNA

I'm working on a game with my friend, and my job is to make everything you see and I am by no means a programmer.

But I have a question, If I export a textured model from Maya into XNA in an FBX format, is there a way to turn visibility on and off for specific models while in Microsoft Visual like you can in Maya?

I ask because if there is a way to toggle visibility, I may not have to make 50+ animations for the model I made.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

If I got your question right, you want to export some data from Maya to XNA so you can draw/not draw certain models (i presume you mean meshes here) based on that. If that's what you're asking, you can name a mesh something like "INVISIBLE mesh name", so you can check in XNA whether the mesh name starts with INVISIBLE and not draw it if it does. But I don't know how's that going to help you with animations.

I think that answers my question, its just that my model has jet flames parented to it on multiple directions, and I was thinking I could just title my model in various directions and turn on and off the various jet flames.

If I can, then that saves me having to re-do animations with each combination of flames on.
