Simple question about Xbox 360 controller vibration

I've just bought a pre-owned (although in good condition) xbox 360 controller, so I can plug it into my computer for testing. While playing with the vibration of the controller, I noticed that, using the same vibration settings for the left and right side of the controller, the left vibration motor vibrates alot more violently than the right vibration motor.

Not that it matters really in the scheme of things, but I was wondering if this is normal. Note that both motors were set to 1.0f vibration.

    Thanks.

    It's by design.

The left and right vibrators motors are used for different types of vibrations.
The left one is for rough, ample vibrations, while the right one is for more delicate ones. You would normally combine them to achieve different effects.
For example, the falling of rocks would be better simulated by the left one (rough and violent), while the gentle engine vibrations of a elegant modern car would be better suited for the right motor (with some easy left-motor bumps from time to time).
