Great news about the new site. Now will there be any content updates between now and when the new site is available?

6a. Will posting images to the forums be improved?

    7. Will forum printing be fixed/improved? Right now printing forum threads in both IE 7 and Firefox produces less than ideal pages.

    9. Will searching in the forums be made more obvious?

    0. Will it finally offer Creators Club Subscribers an EXCLUSIVE area of their own with the EXCLUSIVE assets, content, tutorials, articles that they were promised when they first subscribed so they can get the full benefits of their subscription?

Can you make it faster? :). I get 25k/sec downloading starter kits/samples, but 800k/sec from most other places including Microsoft.

I think the community games is a great idea. However, it doesn't seem to jive w/the XNA Game Studio 2.0 EULA section below. Please explain how the community games program works w/this EULA?

    b. Programs developed for the Xbox 360 Platform

    i. Personal Use.  Use of any programs developed for the Xbox platform using the software is restricted to your personal, non-commercial use.

ii. Commercial Networked Programs. In the absence of a specific agreement signed by both you and Microsoft which specifically grants you the rights to develop commercial programs that connect to any network, including Xbox Live and/or Games for Windows Live, you may not use the software to develop commercial programs that connect to any network, including Xbox Live and/or Games for Windows Live

It works because Microsoft is fully able to modify the EULA as they wish which will likely happen around the time of the release of the Xbox LIVE Community Games service.

    Question 1X

Forgive me but I didn't see this information anywhere in the newest batch of updates or questions:

Once out of beta, and a game passes review and goes live on LIVE, is it a free download?
If not, where is the relevant discussion on price management, developer/MS revenue  percentages and disbursement, etc?  I understand that these issue may have yet  to be tackled, but it seemed odd that in all the information released none of these issues were touched upon.

Those details have yet to be released. The service isn't out for a while so all those will probably be addressed at some point, but for now we have no idea what any of those terms will be.

Thanks for the quick reply! I actually found a more germane discussion to these issues in the "Xbox LIVE Community Games Discussion thread" that you have contributed quite generously to. thx!!

My vote is for improved HTML table layouts.  The fixed-width thread view is annoying on larger monitors.  At 1920x1200 with a fullscreen Firefox/IE window, the thread widths are less than 50% of the width of the window.

Since the web site will be the front end for submitting games to Live will there be a way for people to post the source code to their submitted games (for others to learn from/contribute to) and/or a way to post source or tutorials for non-submitted games?

Perhaps a CodeProject type site specific to XNA?

I'd rather see an easy way to link a CodeProject project to an XNA game, but I'm a stickler for code reuse.

Nope. It's a benefit to the Creator's Cub. It's also a good way to keep people from trying to game the system (getting dozens of friends to push their game through).

Doesn't look like it just yet.

The thing that gets me the most is that if something is larger than the thread screen width it pushes all reply buttons off the side. So if it is the first post in a thread you cannot respond to it.

Re: Improved XNA Creators Club Online website discussion thread

    Hi guys,

Apologies for not getting into this thread sooner. The community games team is pretty heads-down right now, working on all the stuff we promised you guys at GDC would be in our beta. We are working late nights on your behalf. :)

Forums improvements are part of the beta mix, and we are even testing some of them internally now, but I don't want to overpromise (and hence underdeliver) . We  also are balancing forums stuff against things like getting your XNA game out on marketplace someday, and so don't hate us if all the things you want aren't immediately there at beta launch. The beta site is (to me, selfishly) a great leap forward but it's still going to be beta, which means improvements are always part of the plan.

We will be asking for your feedback throughout, that I can promise you.

Please be patient with us - and sorry the team's been less available than normal - just a lot of work going on.

    Thanks for your support,

    Betsy Aoki

    XNA Program Manager
