NO WAY! So the Zune will actually have a clock now!?

You know, that's a good point. I haven't seen any clock on the thing so maybe it doesn't track time. Maybe there won't be DateTime.Now. :)

The device most likey has a clock. Some of the features on it require it in small ways, and it wouldn't make sense not to have a time telling feature. Also, happyface, it won't actually have a clock, you can just make a game that uses the time telling feature. I guess you could make a "game" that tells the time. Also, does anyone know if it might be a possibility that you can set your zune to gun a "game" after so many minutes of no input, say for like a screensaver

I'm pretty sure there's a clock somewhere. The Zune needs some way of keeping time to manage the 3day or 3play rule when sharing songs. It's just not displayed in the GUI. Or maybe the Zune team came up with some other method.

I know. It was supposed to be a joke. Apparently I'm not so funny. :)

The zune doesn't have the 3 day 3 play rule anymore. Just 3 play, so the new zunes are less likely to have a clock then the original, but they probably do, i don't see why they would leave it out. You never know what they might be working on that would need a clock, and neither do they, so it would be safest for microsoft to build one in

Considering the Zune runs on an existing OS, I'm sure the case is: it would be unsafe and just plain silly to take it out :-)

well just because the OS has a clock, does not mean the hardware is there, but most likely they did put in a clock, after all, how would the zune know after how many seconds to turn off the display?

Seriously.... ANY digital hardware device that has some sort of CPU has a harware clock for timing. The problem discussed here was the existance of a clock that keeps the real world date and time.
Since the current Zune OS does not show us anything of the like, all we can do is speculate until more news come out from official sources. So it would be safest to wait until the Beta, and see for ourselves.

Speaking of Clocks.... it's now May 2nd.....  May or June for the new bits .... only 60 days left in "spring" :-)

There is no monthly fee for Xbox either. You pay in either 4 month or 12 month increments.

Clarification aside, if you had read the FAQ to which you are responding you would have found the answer:

Q: Do I need an XNA Creators Club subscription to deploy the game?

A: No subscription is required to deploy the Zune game from your PC.

also... after this has been released is there anyway of getting DOOM onto that because DOOM is the best

If you program it, sure. I doubt that will be an easy task for most people, but I would imagine doable. If they got it a DOOM clone running on an iPod a few years ago, I'm sure the Zune can handle it.
