I found that really good sites to learn some 2d programming skills are:

    www.xnadevelopment.com

    and

    www.xnaresources.com

They tell you how to add character movement, and do things with the mouse, and very many other useful effects..

I have another site too, though I am not sure its what you are looking for.  It's a good online book for beginners though.

If you are interested, the site is

    Click me!

its a very good point to start at if you are completely new to XNA/ Coding in general.

You will find that 2d can be as big a world as 3d, when asking or help you sould try and focus your questions, but if you do want a general chat you will find that many of the guys here have posted IM information in there profiles.

Also most of us hang out on IRC on the Efnet server in the chat room #xna, come on in and have a chat there.

BTW you will find that a lot of my work is in 2d and I post about it all the time on my blog.
