    Can't find session

Hello! I have CC and Xbox Live Gold and I have tryied to network my computer and 360 together. I'm not talking about deploying, that works fine. I am talking about System Link network gameplay between the two. I create the session, update it and everything, but when I start a session on my 360, the computer can't find it. And vise versa. Do you guys have this trouble, and if so, do you know how to fix it.

    Thanks

Did you use the project converter or did you make two projects? If you made two projects, they will each have a different GUID and therefore not recognize each other as being the same game. Open up the Assembly.cs file and make sure the GUIDs are the same. Once they're the same, the two should see each other.

Yeah, the Guid's are the same. When I created the Windows project under the solution, I clicked the button to create a copy for xbox 360. Those two still can't find each other though.

Can you post up the relevant networking code for us to check out?

Well, just to let you know. Two PCs on my network were able to find each other, and the code for the pc networking is the same as the Xbox. I didn't use any #if XBOX statements with my networking functions.

Do our networking samples work correctly?

I've downloaded the Client/Server networking sample, and I have downloaded the Peer to Peer networking sample. They both run fine on windows, but when I debug them on the xbox, it throws this crazy error saying "File Font not found". It can't seem to find the font file in the content folder.

Is this an exception when you run the game, or an error in the Visual Studio error list pane when you build it?

Please also post the exact text of the error message.

Okay here is the error: Error loading "Font". File not found.

This error is thrown when I run the game. Also, when I open up the Content folder, I see the Font.spritefont file clearly there.

I found out why it couldn't find the Font file. I forgot to build the Content folder. Ha ha ha, I'm still used to XNA 1.0. :)

    Re: Can't find session

Hey, I found out what the problem  was. My two computers were using XNA 2.0 beta, but of course the Xbox wasn't. When I downloaded the final release of 2.0, everything connected fine. Thanks for the help you did try to give me. :)

Aha! Yes, that would do it.

I'm surprised you could deploy from the beta Windows version to the release Xbox build, actually. I didn't know that even worked!
