Considered as a bad behavior if I download "in review" games to PC with no intention of reviewing them?

Considered as a bad behavior if I download "in review" games to PC with no intention of reviewing them?

I was very excited hearing the news that this community games beta started.

As a Japanese gamer with only a Japanese gamertag who has poor expertise to program games, the only thing I can do is to download, play and review games developed by the community.

Several hours ago, the tragedy of it, my Xbox 360 showed the Red Ring of Death. That means I cannot play the community games much less reviewing them untill my consoles gets repaired.

However, some of those games in tha catalog catches attention, and I feel like downloading them hoping that I will play them when my Xbox comes back from repair.

Do you consider it to be a no-no behavior as a reviewer?

If you hadn't posted here who would know? You paid your $99 to get to them.

Once your xbox comes back you should probably start joining in with the community and helping though...

    @The ZMan

Thank you for your quick reply. I'll be relaxed and wait for the Xbox's comeback while enjoying (and occasionally downloading) the catalog.

I too encountered the red ring of death last week,
Last friday I shipped by baby back to the motherland (Texas it seems!)
Anyhow, I'm in there with you,
Borrowed an xbox from my 4 year old grandson,
Just so that I could see what's going on!

We have probably all done this, I know I have. Sometimes I download and install them and don't get to actually play them before they are either rejected or passed. I usally write my notes down on a pad and sometimes don't get to posting until it is too late.

Now that the Beta is over there is nothing you can do but download and play them so definately don't feel bad.

Though you cannot peer review them anymore, most of the games have a thread in the Community Games forum. Authors will still be interested in your comments and you can post them there.

As everyone has already mentioned, I can't see downloading the games being seen as bad behavior. Creators are not the target demographic when it comes to selling the games so there are no real lost sales, rather opportunities for feedback.

On a related note, I would love to see (and plan to do so myself) the feedback threads continuing for the release of XBLCG. Feedback on rejection / acceptance as well as more general pro / con game critique is useful if we are to further mature as game developers.
