Ummm, I get a runtime error with that link. :(

Is it some kind of test? :)

edit: Well, I know how Andy got his multi-post now. :(

edit2: Seems the Careers site didn't recognize being logged in here. Go to the main Careers site first, log in, then either search for "XNA" (only 3 results) or paste the link.

If people spent a minute searching the forums and reading the FAQs before posting I'd be out of a job.

Nope, no test. Not sure why you're getting the runtime error... here's the JD posted directly if it's still not working:

What could possibly be more exciting then writing your own game and seeing it run on an Xbox 360? How about enabling a vibrant community of others to write thousands of games and share them with a captive audience? Welcome to the XNA Community Team. Check out http://creators.xna.com for a taste of what this team has done and see how we are enabling our community to build some amazing games. In addition to enabling creators to share their dreams with others, our team also has the charter for defining user-created content for gaming across the board. Think video games + Web 2.0 and imagine the possibilities. We've only begun to scratch the surface.

Done imagining? Fantastic. We are looking for a Senior IC SDE who can help architect and build new features of the web site. You must be able to learn, develop and deliver quickly, as we'll be shipping updates to the community on a regular basis. Knowledge of social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace and why they are successful in building communities will be helpful. Experience with SCRUM and other agile methodologies will help you hit the ground running.

    Qualifications should include:

    •     At least 5 years of professional web development experience using HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, AJAX ASP.NET, IIS, SQL Server 2005, C# and JavaScript. Public facing web sites we can visit should be included in your resume submission.
    •     Knowledge of how to design and implement ASP.NET Server Controls & Components.
A strong understanding of how to build n-tier web applications. You will be responsible for end-to-end implementations of features along with reviewing and guiding other team members implementations.
    •     Shipping of at least one major web-based application (50,000+ hits weekly or 50,000+ members) where you developed or architected key features of the site.
    •     Knowledge and development experience in writing and consuming web services.
    •     Table-less design skills for Web front-ends.
    •     Ability to estimate development time on your work tasks quickly and accurately.
    •     BS/BA in Computer Science is recommended.
    •     Must be passionate about games and online communities.

Microsoft *do* hire people from outside the USA... so if you wanted to live here you could apply.

However since it costs a lot for relocation and visa processing its probbly unlikley that they hire internationally if more lcoal people are availalbe... unless you are very special.

Oh, I'm very special.... my better half says tells me this all the time... with a somewhat disturbing smirk on her face!

Actually I have no real desire to move to the USA (I love it here in Australia), and I finally found myself a job here (even if they were just bought out by an American company!) writing desktop .net apps for sound hardware instead of asp.net (I'm over solving browser compatibility issues!).

I was actually surprised that I fit the requirements for the position though.

Is this an onsite position? The job sounds fun, but I'd be unable to relocate...unless it paid really really good. ;)

If the full job position has a location associated with it then its 99% likely to be onsite. The only way to find money and offsite work however would be to apply.

Yes it has to be here in Redmond. We are trying to find someone who can help architect our features so you need to be with the PM/Dev/Design/Test teams daily working through the solutions. As to pay, it's a high level position and the pay would be appropriate to that.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm really not looking to leave where I'm at, been here over 6 years and get paid well, have a house, wife and kids. Just sounded like a fun job, had to inquire before going through the application process. Not that my job isn't fun, I mean, medical imaging is cool too. Just not as cool as games.
