    No Sound

    Hi Guys,

I've just installed Visual C# express edition 2005 and XNA GS 2.0 on my new laptop and I don't get any sound from any of the games that I run, yet I get the sound when I run the same games on my desktop pc.

I know there is something I need to do to get xact working correctly on vista but these aren't games and sounds that I have done myself but programs I've downloaded as tutorials so don't know whats wrong?

My laptop plays sounds for everything else, music, movies etc just not for xna.

    Thanks

    TH

I have the same issue. Just installed everything for XNA on to a new vista based laptop and no sound :(

    Anyone got a quick answer?

    Resplicing some XNA...

    Play: Rail Gun Charlie (2009)

    Play: Tail Gun Charlie (2008)

    Re: No Sound

I've just come across this problem as well. The only difference is that the sound did work in my project, but then suddenly decided not to. This was yesterday. Running the exact same project on my XP machine has no problems whatsoever, everything works perfectly. But no sound on my Vista laptop, even though the sound is working in other apps. Unfortunately, the suggestions in the above link didn't correct the problem. I've reinstalled XNA, and made sure DirectX and my sound drivers were fully updated.
