I got my school to agree to pay for the Gold Membership for my senior project.  The problem is the membership requires a credit card which can be seen when the user logs in.  So my question is can I use a pre-paid credit card, or is there a billing department I can contact to try and find some kind of solution for the credit card informations being visable?

You can buy an XBox LIVE Gold membership over the counter at many game stores, and no financial data is stored on it. You can also order one from Amazon or another online merchant.
