I read this and wanted to mention a rather helpful site for when modeling military vehicles. It's called Combat Camera, here's the link: http://www.combatcamera.forces.gc.ca/common/combatcamera/default.asp
It gives you the ability to look up almost any vehicle being used in the military today and can usually yield some high-res pictures which can be made into some extremely useful textures.
