First, to introduce myself, my name is William Shanklin and I am owner and art director of Shanklin Media and Shanklin Outdoor Media in Baltimore, MD.
Now before you begin flaming, stating that this all sounds a bit too complicated, what I have in mind is just a very basic concept. But one I believe is quite missed by gamers. A lot of people enjoyed the 2-player fun of games like the streets of rage series. Their downfall was just their repetitiveness. What I'm proposing is a game designed similarly (level design mostly) that as whole, is actually an rpg. you can create your character, sticking to just things like, hair, face, clothes, and slight body shape adjustments, sort of like in the penny arcade game. Then you choose your origin which will determine the type of skills youll learn and fighting style, etc., and voila, a couple simple things added and the whole genre can be revitalized. now add town like areas, doors to other rooms, shops, places to change outfits and equipment, inventory, storyline, side quests, all the basic things that any rpg creator can easily do, and NOW you have one heck of a game. An open ended, customizable beat em up rpg. (maybe we could work on that name.)
I am able to do all artwork, design, models, levels, writing, and music.
Who I need is:
1. Coder
2. 3D modeler (just for characters)
3. somebody with a basic fighting engine that can integrate an rpg into it.
we have:
1. a coder
2. a musician
3. an artist
Compensation will be split between team members at completion. Email me at will3@shanklinmedia.com
