    In-Progress Community Website

I know some of you are tired of waiting for tomorrow so I have decided to go ahead and reveal a project that I have been working on lately. This project is http://xblcgreviews.com/ , a site that categorizes and allows users to review community games based on a number of factors. There are some pretty powerful features underneath the hood of the review system and I would love for some people to try it out. Please let me know what you think of the site.

    Re: In-Progress Community Website

    1) Use of the Xbox LIVE logo is a copyright violation so you should take that down.
    2) Is it really fair to have a "Copyright © 2008 xblcgreviews.com. All Rights Reserved." at the bottom when all the content is really owned by other people? Perhaps you should mention the real owners down there.
    3) Why don't you link any of the developer's websites? If you are going to build a website that relies on other people's content, the least you can do is link their official sites.

    And onto Bloc specific stuff:
    1) Why does Bloc have a violence rating of 1? We were approved with 0's for all three categories.
    2) Why does the publisher for Bloc show up as Bloc and not Metacreature Games?

Same with Cubage! Apparently a Rubiks-Cube game is violent?

Don't be rude with him, please. I think he made the website with the best of his intentions... Just give him some more time to correct the failures.

Why the Violence is in the basic info with the developer and genere? The violence info should be only showed when you see the game detailed info.

I'm just trying to say there are ways and ways of pointing out the same and some short sentences could be seen rude. I suppose you weren't rude, but depending on how you read the posts, they could seem rude. Just that. It isn't a personal thing. I make the same mistake many times ;-)

Maybe some of you misunderstood the rating system, a violence of 1 is the lowest possible, or none at all. It can be changed of course, I'll look into it soon. As for the publisher, I just fixed that.

Your number 2, do you mean the software or the actual content of the games? I did not intend for it to come across as, "I have created everything on this page" but that copyright was filled in for me by the installation of the content system. I will happily do anything to the site that needs being done but I'm a little confused on what I would need to put in the copyright place.

I wasn't exactly planning on adding links to community sites just yet but I can add them as soon as I get a chance. Would it be better that the links are placed on each game's page or have a dedicated page?

I don't mind the criticism, I knew that there would be issues because I am sorely pressed for time with my job and school work so this has been pretty hectic. Thanks for the feedback so far and keep it coming.

Update: I just fixed the violence issue, now if there is no violence the number is zero. I also removed the violence rating from the "Games List" view. That was a slipup on my part. :)
Also, no one has posted yet on the copyright at the bottom of the page but can I just remove the copyright?

Great site, I just registered.  Great place for customers to get reviews and post reviews specifically for XBLCG.  I think adding links to developer pages is a great idea.  Getting players involved with rating and reviews is crucial.

    Nice site!

I would also like it if you could provide a link back to each dev's site.
Currently you list "Published by", and "Genre". Clicking on the developer's name takes them to a page that I assume is a list of all the games they've made. This is an interesting feature. Maybe you could keep this feature, and for example have it like:
"Published by: Mommy's Best Games" (goes to the game list on your site, for all MBG games)
"Website: Mommy's Best Games" (goes to www.mommysbestgames.com)
"Genre: Action/Adventure" (goes to all action/adventure games like it currently does now)

    Keep up the good work!

    Nice.

Let me know if you would like to trade links to my site at www.gameroutfit.com.  I created it to primarily cover XBox Community Games. :)

I think I'll have to add a developer profile page as well, nice touch.

    Re: In-Progress Community Website

I have sent you an email to you through your website, I was hoping to get some more direct contact info so we don't have to post on these boards. If anyone has found anything else on the site please tell me, I have already fixed all of the previously mentioned things except for the copyright which I still don't know how to take care of. Thanks for the help so far.
