XACT freezes when connecting to local audio console (solved)

    Hi,

I'm new to XNA. I'm trying to put XACT to work but when I select "Audition\Connect to XXX (local)" it freezes, it seems like it's not able to connect to local audio console. It happens in XACT 2.0 and 3.0 and Audio Consoles 9.20 and 9.25 running on Windows Vista. I've already tried to turn off firewall but the problem persists. Any idea?

    Regards.

I finally saw a workaround for this issue on the forum: to turn off IIS before starting XACT. It works perfectly for me. Thanks.

I recently hit this, and failed to find this post at the time, but I managed to get it working by using Connect To and entering "localhost" instead of accepting the default "computername (local)".

Now I know what to look for, turns out Skype is listening on port 80. But this way, I don't have to kill Skype to use XACT.

Comeon guys, along with the IIS solution, is an impotant fix.

I've spent 2 days lookin for a solution, could you please make an entry in the home page for this problem ?

By the way, the Auditioning system uses port 80 too ? c'mon!!!
