I like the motion that resembles the look and feel of a steady-cam, sort of a floating-on-a-cloud experience, with smooth lerp-to movement and rotation. Haven't looked at B&W2 in particular, but Ground Control leaps to mind as a good example of a "floating camera" model. The game also sports a clever acceleration model, to get you to your destination in a jiffy, but slow and sensitive enough initially for some local browsing.
