    Greatest game quotes

We used to play a game to keep us awake while working the bar.

    Movie quotes.

One person would quote a film and the other would have to name the film, there are a lot of memorable quotes.

If I was to say "Say hello to my little friend", or "HERE's Johny", or "everybody wants to be like Mike" I think most of you would be able to name the films.

    But what about games?

Can anyone name the game these quotes came from.

"God knows what happens next, don't I"

"oooh, stop it, ooh, don't you know who I am? Neither do I"

'Don't waste the life I gave you'
    "Waste someone else's"

    'All you need is love'
    "All you have is hate"

    Probably not.

So does anyone have any favorite game quotes?
What game quotes really stick in your mind?
Do any stick in your mind?

I'd like to hear where yours are from.. are they literal quotes? Personally, I'm quite fond of this one:

Like the worm.. FROM THE INSIDE!

Not sure if it's what you had in mind, but another quote I thought of:

"Missile launch detected" -Supreme Commander, the computerized voice that gives you warnings.

Those three words instantly give you a cold feeling in your gut - you let your opponent build a T3 Nuke Silo and get a nuke online. If you don't have (multiple) T3 Nuke Defense silos in operation, the game is pretty much lost.

All of the following quotes are from Splinter Cell Chaos Theory:

Sam Fisher: [at a Japanese tea house, Sam has grabbed a guard from behind in a choke-hold] Bad news.
Guard: Agh! I knew it! I knew there were ninjas around here!
    Sam Fisher: What?
Guard: Yeah, you've gotta be a ninja. How else could you sneak up and grab me like that?
Sam Fisher: Listen, I don't know what...
Guard: Wow! A real, live, ninja! I can't believe it!
Sam Fisher: Listen, I'm going to kill you if...
Guard: *Wow*! Killed by a ninja... cool!

Guard: [after being taken captive by Sam at the ISDF Building] Who are you?
Sam Fisher: I'm the good guy here to save your world
Guard: I thought I was the good guy
Sam Fisher: No, no you're the side with the super secret underground base and I'm the guy who's trying to break in to the base which makes me the good guy.

    From Pandora Tomorrow:

[Sam Fisher grabs an Indonesian terrorist from behind and is questioning him]
    Indonesian terrorist: They've got guns.
Sam Fisher: I'm shocked and amazed. What else?
Indonesian terrorist: They're escorting a... Um, nothing.
    Sam Fisher: What? Escorting who?
Indonesian terrorist: Nothing, I... I made a mistake!
Sam Fisher: [losing his patience] Escorting who?

And the last one from the original Splinter Cell:

Sam Fisher: You must be Ivan.
Ivan: You are police? You are American?
Sam Fisher: Yes and no. The police are on their way. Till they get here I'm the only friend you've got, and I'm not a very good one.
Ivan: We have to leave. We have to hurry. They'll find us soon.
Sam Fisher: Thats not my job. i'm here for your encryption key.
    Ivan: That wasn't the deal.
Sam Fisher: The deal still stands. The feds will get you out of here alive but first you have to give me the key.
Ivan: That wasn't the deal I made with the woman on the phone.
Sam Fisher: Listen do I come to your job and tell you how to murder civilians?
    Ivan: What?
Sam Fisher: No. So don't come to my job and tell me how to do it. The feds are on the way or here already. You're gonna be fine. Now you can give me the key or I can take it.
    Ivan: That wasn't the deal.
Sam Fisher: You're working from a VERY limited phrase book. Listen, just give me the key. I'm tired and I hate making people scream. It gets me down.
    Ivan: Here.

Yes they are exact, they are from Deus Ex Machina.

Frankie Howard played the god like character, "God knows what happens next, don't I" etc.

Ian Drury played the main character, which started as a sperm so we got him to say the immortal line...

"Watcha *** I'm a fertilizing agent. My brothers are all wiggly. Give me a little tickle, make me go all giggly"

    and

"Hello little girl. I believe we have a date, with destiny. A short life but a happy one"

We also had Jon Pertwee and Donna Bailey do sections.

Information is not knowledge, knowledge is not wisdom, wisdom is not truth, truth is not beauty, beauty is not love, love is not music, music is the best! Wisdom is the domain of the Wis (which is extinct).

Guybrush Threepwood: You don't need to see my identification.
Cabana Boy: I don't need to see your identification.
Guybrush Threepwood: I'm not the pirate you're looking for.
Cabana Boy: You're not the pirate I'm looking for.
Guybrush Threepwood: I can go about my business.
Cabana Boy: You can go about your business.
    Guybrush Threepwood: Move along.
Cabana Boy: Move along, move along... hey! Your mind tricks won't work on me, boy! " (monkey island)

Murray: Oh, right. I know a lot about lifting curses. That's why I'm a disembodied talking skull sitting on top of a spike in the middle of a swamp.

    Squall is full of em...

"What are we going to do there? Tell everyone that they're violating curfew?"

On the subject of "would you kindly," I didn't find it memorable at all. So he said it a few times, and it fit the character, but it didn't have any impact on me. Then again, I played Bioshock expecting Deus Ex, so everything was a letdown for me. At least Deus Ex had "a bomb!"

And who could forget, "this guy are sick."

Perhaps the most memorable dialog for me was MGS2's latter comm chatter. Not the "I need scissors, 61" stuff, but rather, "generations aren't that long," referring to how easy it is to change history and make the public believe a lie.

"Thank you Mario. But our princess is in another castle!"

While I don't remember any quotes off hand, the most enjoyable experience I think I've ever had reading dialog in a game was from the Lunar series of games. Very smart and witty.

"I never had time to take the oath of service to the coalition - how about this one. I will not rest until UNATCO is free from you and all the other crooked bureaucrats who have perverted it's mission."

"Big words for a rookie - the only problem is security is well aware of your escape. You won't leave the facility alive."

    Deus Ex

I may be a little off as I did that all from memory.
