My favorite three from a while back -

"The mainframe AI hasn't been defragged in years. Its likely to be completely insane by now."

"I suspect you might want to look away, your religious beliefs might be offended by whats about to happen."

"I would rather have given a sword. Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, but teach a man to fight and he can chow down on the meaty marrow of evil!"

I like this one I heard on Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. the other day:

"War is my business, and I have every legal right to conduct it. I'm sorry you weren't the highest bidder." - CEO of Artemis, a Private Military Corporation, as he orders fighter jets to shoot down Air Force One.

(might be slightly incorrect though- going from memory, and the audio wasn't balanced properly so the voice was half as loud as the music.)

    DecapodStudios:
"Construction complete. New construction options..." - C&C\Red Alert series. Not quite quote, but still brings back memories.
Sure does... but brings back memories of Dune II for me... it must have said something similar?

Grandia's loaded with my favorites, but here's the two that always find their way back into my mind.

"Because we're not stark raving mad, you pathetic blockhead!" - the bird from Grandia II
"...your going to make him stupid", "trust me we have nothing to worry about in that regard" - response from the main character's mom near the beginning of Grandia I

were not gonna let them have it! what we will let em have is a belly full of lead
and a pool of there own blood to drown in!

    Re: Greatest game quotes

I found my Streets of SimCity disc the other day. I managed to play it for a few minutes before it totally crashed (sadly it's not compatible with WinXP), but that was long enough to remind me of some great quotes.

These two were from the character that sounds like Arnold from the old Terminator movies, when you blew up another car:
    "Anotha loo-sah"
"one less dude, and a little more room"

From the secret agent guy when you picked up a cool weapon:
"I think it's time to kick some serious butt"

And that game had the most hilarious in-game radio commercials! Some of my favorite tag lines (there are WAY too many to list):
"E-Coli Cola: Nature's way of reminding you why stomach pumps were invented"
"Fuzzy Dice Accessories: Chew toys for your car"
"Night Shift Coffee: Proud to have the most government regulations to protect minors from our product"
"[some fictional company I don't remember] Missiles: When you want to send just the right message to your opposition"

    Good times, good times...

    This is my personal favourite:

"Things remembered when one is asleep. Things forgotten when one is awake. Where the deepest layers of memories become the outmost layers of one's dreams. Which are reality? Which are illusions? One cannot tell until one awakes. Or perhaps they are, at the same time, both Truth and fiction."--

I think this is simply great!!

    Re: Greatest game quotes

"They should have sent a poet."

"We're not equipped with shields.... well then buckle up!"

    "Is something burning?"

    and:

"The most we could lose is our lives, and we got those for free."

"You just saved the Earth from Crisis. Don't act so stuck up. When I was younger, I too saved the Earth many times."

"I'm one of the masters of this hole.
There are five masters in all. We are all moles, of course.
I believe I am the third strongest amongst us.
    Take your best shot!"

"I'm really the third strongest master.
    I'll destroy you now!"

"My strength falls between the second and fourth strongest masters.
    Do you wanna test me?"

"I'm truly the third strongest master of this hole.
I'll demonstrate the power of being third to you!"

    "Ha ha ha.
You've fought the strongest master of this hole,
the second strongest master of this hole,
the fourth strongest master of this hole,
and the weakest master of this hole!
I'm truly the third strongest master of this hole.
Now you see the true advantage of being third!"
    Serious as a heart attack...
    ... and twice as deadly.

I just found my old Baldur's Gate saved games a played a little. I'd forgotten how amusing Minsc was!

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... watch it! I'm huge!"
"Go for the eyes Boo, go for the eyes!" (to his pet hamster)
    "Butt kicking for goodness!"
"Evil 'round every corner, careful not to step in any!"

    Re: Greatest game quotes

There's a lot of great quotes from Capcom games, Resident Evil in particular. RE4 has a few choice gems:

    "No thanks, bro!"

"I've sent my right hand after you"
    "Your right hand comes off?"

And Valve games lately have been pretty funny, like Team Fortress 2:

    "Cry some more! Hahahaha!!!"

"My blood! He punched out ALL MY BLOOD!"

And let's not forget Psychonauts, a great Tim Schafer game:

"You'll need to go to Kochamara island to save your girlfriend, Gogalor"
"Well, I don't know if I'd really call her my girlfriend, we're kinda..."
"I meant only that she was your friend and a girl, Gogalor"
