    XNA Twits. Who are they?

Today I became a twit. After months of slagging off Twitter and its users because nobody cares what you had for tea last night, I've signed up to Twitter. So I can read what you all are for tea last night.

I'm trying to find as many twits as possible that post useful stuff, so I can complain next week about how much garbage is showing up in my Twitter client and then uninstall it ;-)

I found a few of you on Twitter, but wondered if I'd missed any (I didn't find Mr Hargreaves for example!).

PS. Sorry for calling you all twits. I didn't pick the name, Twitter did :-)

I've always considered myself a geek and was always proud of it...  however, I've never been a cool geek, if there is such a thing.  I still can't claim that I have ever blogged or tweeted.  I never saw the attraction and still don't.

I've been in the same boat (until today). I keep hearing about things being posted on Twitter before anywhere else, and it seems you can't follow people in a client without having account. So now I'm a twit. Don't tell my colleagues, they'll call my a hypocrite ;(

Ta. I did search for XNA but just got a load of garbage back (including registered accounts wih 0 messages). Thinking about it, it was probably only searching names.

I think I've already added more people than I can possibly read (without it interfering with my job), but we'll see :-)

You CAN follow people without an account. Everyone has an RSS feed on their page. Just subscribe to it.

As far as I know, Shawn isn't on Twitter. You'll have to follow his blog.

I'm normally about 5 years late in picking up any kind of new technology. I didn't even have a cellphone until three years ago! So I reckon a twitter account is still a couple of years off for me :-)

It's not my fault, they called it Twitter :)

I called them twits before I signed up - it would be wrong of me to change just because I'm one!

I find the easiest way to build your list of XNA tweeters is to just set up a search in TweetDeck (some some other application that supports that). Then you can just watch tweets roll in all day long that mention XNA (and ignore the ones talking about the airport!). Then just start following the people you find interesting from that search. I know that my list keeps growing every day :)

Good idea :) I was just about to post that my client (Twitterrific Pro on the iPhone) doesn't support saving searches, but that would've been a lie :)

Edit: It's hard to find an english tweet in a search for "XNA" :( Anyone know if I can filter by languages? I'm using Twitterrific Pro on the iPhone. Can't find much on Google :(

Could have been. Or could have been you were involved in a conversation of someone else I was following. All I know is that Twitter has been a great way of getting to know more of this XNA community much like the IRC channel has been.

    I feel so backwards. I don't have a cell phone, I don't twit, I'm not on facebook, don't have a myspace address.

All that's left for me would be to program by punching my keyboard with a wooden club.

Wow. Nice stuff on your blog. You sir, are worth a follow!

As for people who don't get twitter or fb.

Twitter is a great way to follow people you find interesting. Celebrites posts pics and road stories. Programmers post little snippets of code or techniques they run by. Programs alert you to updated releases. NickG posts freakish pictures of friend alligators on sticks.

Facebook is great to catch up with old friends, and/or keep in touch with your current friends and family.
