Designing for Xbox Live Indie Games

So I already read the FAQ, but some of it wasn't clear to me, hoping to get some clarifications...

Can the game be built off of one of the starter kits? Using the platformer starter kit for instance? I'm not talking about using the assets that it comes with, just the code.

Can we use religious content? Would it be ok to have Jesus as a main character?

How would you go about making a trial of the game?

    1. Yes... but you can't jsut rerelease the starter kits and call them your own. But if you change the graphics and add some gameplay there's no problem
    2. As long as you don't break any of the rules sure. http://creators.xna.com/en-US/help/peerReviewStep21 http://creators.xna.com/en-US/help/peerReviewStep20
    3. Trials are automatic... anyone can play your game for 8 minutes. After tht they have to buy it. You can furtehr restrict e.g. don't show certain levels. Guide.IsTrialMode tells you if the game is in trial or not.
